At a Court of Probate holden at Stockbridge within and for the County of Berkshire on the seventh of Oct’r being the Tues Day of said Month, in the year of our Lord 1788.
The foregoing was presented as the last Will and Testament of Bartholomew Barret late of Alford in the County of Berkshire, diseased, by the Executors therein named for Probate, and James /////, Abijah Huribut Henry Cable the Subscribing Witnesses to the same appearing, made an oath that
they saw Bartholomew Barret the Testator Sign and Seal, and heard him Publish and Declare the same to be his last Will and Testament, that he was of sound Mind and disposing Memory when he did it; that they all signed as Witnesses to the same, at the time, in the Presence of the said
Testator and of each other. Whereupon it is considered, that the same be and hereby is Proved, Approved, Ratified, and Confirmed as the last Will and Testament of the Diseased.

In the name of God Amen. I Bartholomew Barret of Alford in the County of Berkshire in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. Gent’m being through the abundant goodness of God tho’ weak in Bad Judgment of a Sound Judgment and perfect understanding and memory, do Constitute this my last will and
Testament and desire it may be received of is such by all
/////// I most humbly bequeath my Soul to God my maker beseeching his most generous Acceptance of it through the all sufficient merits and mediation of my most compassionate Redeemer Jesus Christ who gave himself to be an atonement for my sins and is ///// //// to the uttermost all who
come to God by him seeing he //// /// //// make Intercessions for them, and who I trust will not reject me a returning penitent //////// when I come to him for //////. In the hope and Confidence I render my Soul with comfort, humbly beseeching the most blessed and gracious Trinity and God
most holy most wonderful and gracious to prepare me for my Destination and then to take me to himself in that peace and rest and incomparable of ///// which he has prepared for all them that feast in and //// his name. Amen Blessed be God
In //////// I give my body to the Earth from where it was taken in full assurance that it will rise at the last day. As for my Burial I desire it may be at the discretion of my Dear wife and Children who doubt not will manage it with Prudence.
///// to my worldly Estate, will and ////// Orders that all my Debts be paid out of the South part of this farm on which I now dwell. Also I give my Dear wife one third part of the Land, Movables, and Cattle and one apartment of the house in which I now dwell while she shall remain my wed.
But in case she marry or after her Death I will her one third of the Land to my Sons Bartholomew, Ephraim, Eleazer and Alexander Barret //// also I will my sons Elisha, Philander, Elanda and Erastus Barret the remainder of the Land, their giving to my two Daughters Wealthy and Sabre? When
the youngest comes to age of Manhood each of them a cow and four Sheep.
Also the Remainder of my Movables and dwelling house I will to my sons Philander Elanda and Erastus the whole of the household furniture excepted which I will to my Dear wife to be at her disposal.
And I do hereby make my son Eleazer Barret and my Brother Eleazer Barret Executors of this my last will and Testament. In witness whenof ///// hereby set my hand and seal this second day of June 1788.

Know all Men that these Presents, That we Eleazer Barret and Eleazer Barret, Jun’r, Abijah Huribut, John ///// and Henry Cable, all of Alford, in the County of Berkshire within the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, are holden and stand firmly bound and obliged unto Jahleel Woodbridge Esq.
Judge of the Probate of Wills, and granting Administrations with the county of Berkshire in the full sum of five hundred (500) Pounds, in Lawful Money of the said Commonwealth, to be paid unto the Said Jahleel or his successors in the said Office or Assigns; to the true payment whereof, we
do bind ourselves and each of us, our, and each of our Heirs, Executors, and Administrators, jointly and severally for the whole, and in the whole firmly by these Presents Sealed with our seals Dated the seventh day of Oct’r AD 1789.
The Condition of this present Obligation is such, that if the above bounded Eleazer Barret and Eleazer Barret Jun’r who have this day taken upon them the office of Executors to the last Will and Testament of Bartholomew Barret, late of Alford, deceased, shall return upon Oath a true and
perfect Inventory of all and singular the Good and Chattels, Rights and Credits of the said Testator, which have, or shall come to the knowledge and possession of them, the said Executors or into the hands and possession of any other Person or Persons for ///// into the Probate Office, in
the said County of Berkshire upon, or before the first Tues Day of Jan’y next ensuing. And further do make a just and true account of their Administration on Oath, as aforesaid, at on before the first Tues Day of Oct’r next, which will be in the Year of your Lord, 1789 and all the rest and
residue of said Goods, Chattels, Rights and Credits shall deliver and pay unto such Person or Persons as the said Judge of Judges, by his or their decree. Order or Sentence, pursuant to Law, or said Will, as the case may be, shall limit or appoint. Then this obligation to be void,
otherwise to remain in force.

To all unto whom these presents shall come, Greetiing.
KNOW YE, That at a Court of Probate, holden at Gt. Barrington within the County of Berkshire, on the Thirteenth day of May in the year of our Lord eighteen hundred and twenty three before me the said Judge.
The Instrument hereunto annexed, is presented as the Last Will and Testament of Eleazer Barritt late of Alford in the County of Berkshire, deceased, by Daniel Barrett the Executor therein named, for Probate. And Moses Hopkins & Reuben Bacon two of /////// the subscribing witnesses to the
same, appearing, made oath that they saw the s’d Eleazer Barritt the testator sign and seal, and heard him publish and declare the same to be his last Will and Testament; that he did it; and that they together with Richard Hopkins, who is now deceased all subscribed as witnesses to the
same, at the same time, in the presence of the said testator, and notice having been published according to the order of the s’d Judge that the s’d will was to be presented for Probate this day and no objection /// made thereto.
I do therefore, by virtue of the power and authority to me given in and by the laws of the Commonwealth aforesaid, decree that the same Will is proved; and do approve and allow of the said Instrument, as the Last Will and Testament of the said Eleazer Barritt deceased. And I do commit the
execution thereof, in all matters concerning the same, and of the estate of the said Testator whereof he died seized and possessed in said County, unto Daniel Barrett of Alford in the s’d County, well and faithfully to execute the same, and to administer the estate of the said deceased
according thereto, who accepts of said trust and gives bond as the law directs, to pat all debts and legacies which are mentioned in the testators will according to the true intent & measures thereof.

Shews[?] Daniel Barrett of Alford in said County that I the said Daniel as executor of the last Will and Testament Eleazer Barrett late of said Alford deceased that the said Eleazer Barrett died at the said Alford in said County and I the said Daniel Barrett hereby Certify the ////// named
in the Will of the said Eleazer Eleazer Barrett died having no Widow- and the following are heirs named in the Will of the s’d Eleazer (viz?)
Wait Barrett now living in Albany State of New York,
Medan Barrett residing in the Town of Benton State of New York-
Three children heirs to David Barrett dec’d and heirs to the said Estate viz. all over fourteen years of age residing in the Town of West Bloomfield their names I do not recollect –
Israel Barrett residing in said West Bloomfield of lawful age –
Polly Rhoda daughter of the dec’d living I think in East Bloomfield in the State of New York
Sally Palmer daughter of the dec’d living in East Bloomfield
Esther formerly the wife of William Cleaveland and daughter of the dec’d living I suppose in Canada.

Last Will & Testament of Eleazer Barritt (Barrett)
I Eleazer Barritt of Alford in the County of Berkshire & Commonwealth of Massachusetts, Yeoman, do make this my last will & testament as follows to wit:
Firstly- My will is that all the Just debts which I may owe at the time of my decease, together with my funeral charges & expenses, shall be paid out of my estate, by my Executor hereafter to be named & appointed-
Secondly- I give & bequeath unto my Wife Orpha Barritt, provided she shall survive me, One hundred dollars, to be paid to her by my Executor out of my personal estate in such artickels as she may choose which sum shall be in full of her claim of Dower in & unto my estate
Thirdly - I give & bequeath unto my son Wait Barritt; one hundred dollars which sum shall be paid to my said Son, by my Executor, & which sum, shall be in full for his share or proportion of my estate-
Fourthly- I give & bequeath unto my son Medan Barritt; one hundred dollars, to be paid to the said Medan, or to his heirs or assigns by my Executor, & which is to be in full of his proportion of my estate, & to be paid to the said Medan within two years from the time of my decease-
Fifthly - I give & bequeath unto the three Children of my late Son David deceased, the sum of one hundred dollars, to be divided equally divided to & among the three Children of my late Son David & be paid to them by my Executor, as they shall survive to the age of twenty one years,
severally-
Sixthly - I give & bequeath unto my son Isael Barritt, & to his heirs or assigns, One hundred dollars, to be paid to the said Isael or to his heirs or assigns, by my Executor within three years from the time of my decease, in full of his proportion of my estate-
Seventhly - I give & bequeath unto my Daughter Polly Rhoda the present wife of Hendrike Rhoda & to her heirs or assigns, One hundred dollars, to be paid to the my said Daughter or to her heirs or assigns by my Executor, within one year from the time of my decease & which is to be in full
of her share in & unto my estate
Eigthly - I give & bequeath unto my Daughter Sally Parker the wife of James Parker, One hundred dollars, which sum shall be paid to the said Sally Parker or to her heirs or assigns by my Executor, within three years from the time of my decease & which shall be in full for her share or
proportion of my estate -
Ninthly - I give & bequeath unto my Daughter Esther who was formerly the wife of William Cleavland & her heirs or assigns, One hundred dollars, which sum shall be paid to the my said Esther or to her heirs or assigns, by my Executor, within four years from the time of my decease & which is
to be in full of all the said Esthers share or proportion in & unto my estate –
Tenthly - I give & bequeath unto my son Daniel Barritt of said Alford Gentleman & to his heirs or assigns forever, the rest & residue of all the estate which I may ////si/zed & possesed of both real & personal however the same may be situated, bounded or described including all my rights &
credits- And I hereby nominate, constitute & appoint my said Son Daniel Barritt to be my Executor to this my last will & testament, hereby reworking all other former or other wills by me made-
In witness whereof I the said Eleazer Barritt have hereunto set my hand and seal this [?] day of August in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred & fifteen (1815) ____
